Big D and Bubba got this amazing letter from a young lady here in Fort Smith and passed it along to me. I wanted to share it, but wanted to get the permission of her and her mom first. I talked to her and she said she wanted people to know just how amazing her mom is, so here's the story..

My name is Casey Jane and I'm 14 1/2 years old. Every morning, me and my mom listen to your station before I go to school. Then I kiss her forehead and off I go.

But the reason I'm writing this letter to you is because I have a little Christmas wish of my own. But first, let me tell you our family story and you'll know why I'm asking. Last summer, me, my mom, my cousin and my older brother were going to Illinois so my mom could get her shots down her neck and back. But we didn't make it. A semi ran us off the road. It was raining very hard and mom lost control of the car. Not knowing what was going to happen, I remember my mom telling me and Jessica to cover our heads and get down. Then, my mom took her seat belt off and jumped in the back seat to cover us up. She thought we were going into the river. She says now her plan was to grab us once we hit the river.  But I yelled to God to stop the car and believe me or not, the car came to a complete dead stop. Once it did, a big tree fell on mom's car and came through the window and hit my mom right in her neck. It knocked my mommy out. She was airlifted to the hospital. My mom is my hero. She saved me and my cousin that day. After the wreck, my mom is disabled. She now can't work any longer. We don't have much money for a whole lot of anything. But I am okay with that. All I'm asking for is if I could do one thing for her and my family. That is just for every one in my house to remember how lucky we are to have our mom. I have 2 brothers. One stays home and takes care of my mom and Bryant works. My sister is also a new mom of Rylan. He's 2 months old. And I have a stepdad who is in Pakistan because his parents are very sick. Since my stepdad had to leave things have become very hard for us. I overheard my brothers talking about Christmas and we all are old enough to understand. But, I just wish one more time I could see my mom smile and the shining stars she gets in her eyes when she is happy. So, this Christmas, all I am asking for is to see my mom smile and for someone to tell her it will be alright. Thank you for letting me tell you my story.

This is one special young lady and I am glad I got to read her story.
