BREAKING! Child's body found after Amber Alert in Okla last night

Sad ending to the story everybody was talking about last night.

The body of a missing Norman baby at the center of an Amber Alert is believed to have been found at an Oklahoma City home, according to police, and a man wanted in connection with the missing child has been booked into jail on charges of first-degree murder and desecration of a human corpse.

Victor Manuel Minjarez, 31, was arrested Wednesday night at a home near Northwest 30th Street and May Avenue, after an Amber Alert was issued for his 7-month-old baby, Jody Minjarez, authorities said. Police said they also found a body believed to be of the baby at that home.

Police said Minjarez attacked Jody's mother on Feb. 19 and fled her Norman home in the 1500 block of Lakecrest Drive with their son. Online records show that Minjarez has been charged with assault and battery in the presence of a minor.

On Feb. 23, the child's mother obtained an emergency victim protective order, which ordered that Jody be returned to her.

Minjarez has since sent a text message to a friend saying to tell the mother she "would never see her son again," police officials said.

"Based on this information, it is believed that 7-month-old Jody Minjarez is in imminent danger of bodily harm or death," Norman police officials said in a news release.

The Amber Alert was canceled late last night after Minjarez was taken into custody.
