Last month, JC Penney announced the list of the 138 stores that would be closing in June of this year. Once the news leaked out, shoppers started flocking to the stores and now the stores scheduled to close may stay open longer that originally announced.
Included on the list of stores to be closed were two in Arkansas and four in Oklahoma. The stores in Arkansas that were scheduled to close are in Benton and Blytheville. The stores in Oklahoma scheduled to close are in Altus, Claremore, Ponca City and Stillwater. The stores will start liquidation sales on May 22nd and close on July 31st
